  • Salt, to taste

  • 3 tablespoons (36g) sugar

  • 2 tablespoons (30g) vegetable oil

  • ¼ cup (56g) corn kernels 


  1. To a blender, add the desired amount of kosher salt and the sugar and blend on high speed until it turns to powder.

  2. To a 6-quart pot set over medium-high heat, add the vegetable oi and heat until just smoking. Add the popcorn kernels and sugar/salt mixture and top with a lid. 

  3. Continuously and vigorously shake the pot, holding the lid down, until the popping begins to subside, about 3-4 minutes. 

  4. Pour into a serving bowl and enjoy.
