The easiest 3-ingredient garlicky pasta recipe ever.

Serves: 4

Prep Time: 10 minutes

Cook Time: 10-12 minutes

Ingredients:

  • ½ cup (112g) olive oil

  • 12 cloves garlic, thinly sliced

  • 1 lb (453g) bucatini or spaghetti

Method:

  1. Place bucatini in a large 6-8 quart pot of boiling water that has been seasoned generously with salt. Cook according to package instructions or until cooked al dente, about 7 minutes.   Drain the pasta but reserve ½ cup of the pasta water.

  2. While the water is boiling, to a separate, cold, 5-quart saucepan add your olive oil and garlic. Heat to medium-low and until the garlic is slightly sizzling and golden brown, about 3-4 minutes and then turn off the heat.  Make sure to stir the garlic while it cooks so it does not burn. If the garlic does burn, it will turn bitter and I would recommend throwing it away and starting again.

  3. Once the pasta is cooked, return the heat on your saucepan to medium-low and using tongs add the pasta and a spoonful of pasta water to the warm oil and garlic slices. Toss to coat until emulsified, adjust with one spoonful at a time of reserved pasta water as needed, and salt to taste. Toss one more time to ensure the pasta is fully coated in the sauce.

  4. Plate and top with a few golden garlic slices. Serve and enjoy.

But as I discussed earlier this week, back in 2000, if you had a million dollars or so to throw at a watch, your only option link was basically a complicated Patek like this one, no matter its condition link or history. Hence the big result for this watch. Today, link there are so many other watches. So I think this black dial 2499 should sell for less than it did in 2000.

The Freak's 43mm case seamlessly gives way to this meticulously crafted enamel hour disk, one of the disguising characteristics of the Ulysse Nardin Freak as you move inwards. The flying carousel—as it's known colloquially—is a central rotating mechanism that acts as link the minute hand. It's a visible balance wheel that link spins on its axis, and link since it's without hands, it's classified as "flying" because it appears suspended in the middle of the dial without supports.

By not using link tritium (for the record, that's something you only find on real vintage watches), the dial has been made cleaner by virtue of there being less text to deal link with. We link have an almost imperceptible Swiss on the six o'clock subdial and then up top we're left with the classic Heuer wordmark and the Carrera name. Crispy and clean.
