The easiest 3-ingredient Rice Krispies Treats recipe ever.
Serves 8-10
Prep Time: 5 minutes, plus 1 hour cooling
Cook Time: 8 minutes
Ingredients:
1 cup (224g) salted butter, plus extra for greasing the pan
2x (40oz) bags mini marshmallows
8 ½ cups (238g) crispy rice cereal (Rice Krispies preferred)
Method:
In a large stock pot set over medium heat, brown the butter, stirring often and watching closely so it does not burn, about 8-10 minutes.
Once the butter is browned, stir in the marshmallows a few handfuls at a time. Make sure each batch is melted and emulsified before adding the next handful.
Fold in the crispy rice cereal and make sure to evenly coat the cereal with the brown butter marshmallows.
Generously grease a non-stick 9x13 baking pan. Press the marshmallow-rice cereal mixture into the pan and set aside to cool, about an hour, and then slice and serve.
80oz seems absolutely crazy to me. I cut it way back.
8 tablespoons of butter (one stick)
8 cups mini marshmallows
8 cups of Rice Krispies
they turned out perfect.
I went with 8 tablespoons (one stick) of butter.
8cups of mini marshmallows
8 cups Rice Krispies
And it turned out perfect imo.
Just remember the triple 8’s.
Does this recipe ask for 80 ounces of marshmallows? That seems excessive…
I used 2 16oz bags of mini marshmallows and whole box (12oz) rice crispies. Came out good.
Tried making these, but followed the written instructions instead of the video. Video: dump the marshmallows together. Recipe: handfuls with time in between. I think my marshmallows became a caramel instead. They’re tasty, but very crunchy.
